US Medicine & Disease Olympiad (USMDO) Coaching

Ready to take your medical knowledge to the next level?

The US Medicine & Disease Olympiad challenges students to move beyond foundational biology and apply their knowledge to human health and disease. Students must integrate concepts from cell biology, genetics, physiology, microbiology, and immunology to understand human health, disease mechanisms, and complex medical questions.

Bio:Logic USMDO coaching provides individualized, one-on-one preparation with Dr. Tobi Schmidt, who earned her PhD in Cell and Molecular Immunology through the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University School of Medicine and has extensive experience teaching and mentoring students in the biological sciences.

Bio:Logic USMDO coaching supports students preparing for the U.S. Medicine & Disease Olympiad, with a focus that extends beyond the national qualifying examination. Our goal is to help students develop the depth of biomedical knowledge, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills needed to compete at the highest levels, including the International Medicine and Disease Olympiad (IMDO).

What Students Have to Say:

Expert In Immunology

“Tobi is very gifted in taking complex immunology concepts and making it easy to understand. We reviewed the pathophysiology of autoimmune diseases, and after 1 session, I was able to understand the mechanism of disease. I would highly recommend her!”
— Chris, Pharmaceutical Professional

Absolutely outstanding!

“I've been working with Tobi for over half a semester now, and she is absolutely phenomenal. She's patient, explains things thoroughly, and takes the time to know how you learn and how your professor(s) teach. She even looks ahead on what you're learning so she can best tutor you during your session instead of trying to figure it out as you go along. I couldn't recommend Tobi more. If you need a tutor for Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, or any of the subjects she tutors, stop searching. You won't regret learning with Tobi! I've never used a tutor before, but I will be working with Tobi as long as I can as I work through nursing school!”
— Ryan, Nursing Student

Dr. Tobi Schmidt, Bio:Logic Founder, USMDO Coach

Meet Your Coach

Tobi Schmidt, Ph.D.

Scientist. Educator. Mentor. Founder of Bio:Logic.

I’m Dr. Tobi Schmidt, a science education expert and cell and molecular immunologist with a Ph.D. from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Stanford School of Medicine. I’ve spent over 30 years teaching, mentoring, and guiding students in biology, and I’m still as passionate about it today as I was when I first started. I offer biology tutoring and mentoring that goes far beyond test prep. I help students understand the subject deeply, think critically, and gain lasting confidence.

I’ve worked with students at all levels, from high schoolers taking AP Biology for the first time to college students preparing for research careers and medical school. Along the way, I’ve developed science programs for biotech companies to spark girls’ interest in STEM, taught for the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Program, and served on both their teaching and admissions teams.

My approach blends deep scientific expertise with a warm, personalized teaching style. I don’t just help students do well on tests, I help them think like scientists, ask better questions, and build lasting confidence in their ability to understand complex biological systems.

Many of my students have earned top scores on the AP Biology exam, won national science competitions, and gone on to study at Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Caltech, Berkeley, and other top-tier universities. Whether we’re working on coursework, test prep, or independent research, I’m here to support the next generation of scientists, one student at a time.
