Every student has the ability to go further in biology than they might imagine. Whether your student is working through a difficult unit or preparing for an exam, this session is a chance to work one-on-one with a Stanford PhD biologist and experience what personal tutoring with a scientist feels like.
How it works
- Bring a challenging topic, a tricky question, or an upcoming test.
- Work through it one-on-one with a scientist who has taught and mentored students for more than 30 years.
- Afterward, your family receives a personal note from Dr. Schmidt about what she noticed and what might help next.
“She is truly an extraordinarily gifted teacher.”
— Laurie, parent of an AP Biology student
Who it’s for: High school students currently taking AP Biology, Honors Biology, or other High School Biology courses. Sessions are offered online only and are limited to one free session per student.
Meet Your AP Biology Mentor
Your AP Biology tutoring session is offered by Dr. Tobi Schmidt, a Stanford-trained cell and molecular immunologist with more than 30 years of experience in biological research, education, and student mentorship.
Dr. Schmidt has taught biological sciences through Stanford programs and has spent decades mentoring students in biology, advanced study, and scientific research. She has extensive experience helping AP Biology students not only master course content, but learn how to think through the kinds of unfamiliar, data-driven problems the AP Biology exam demands.
Her approach goes beyond memorization by helping students understand how biological systems work, connect ideas across topics, interpret evidence, and reason through challenging problems.
Through Bio:Logic, Dr. Schmidt provides individualized mentorship for students at every stage of their development in biology—from AP Biology through advanced study and independent scientific research.
